Virginia Tech Shooting
When I first heard the news that 32 people were killed at VT, my first words were there are just too many guns out there. Anyone at anytime can get access to it and roam around the streets. Even though the guy is of South Korean Origin, he was raised in US from the age of 9, but US probably will try to twist it in such a way that he is from S.Korea and it doesnt have anything to do with the gun culture.
Based on watching too much of US news, the usual reason given he may be too depressed.. well shouldnt be surprised if the victims family sue the antidepressant manufacture or the university.
If the only rule that u need to follow to buy a gun is to be 18yrs old and not be convicted of any felony to own a gun, these kind of events are bound to happen. Hopefully atleast now US wakes up and provide some strong gun control laws.

Pistu, I hope you have heard/read this before. Guns don't kill people, people kill people!!!
Sriram: People cant kill people unless they have a weapon in their hand and the more availability to the guns leads to more killing ...
how many people can you kill at a time without any weapon?
Guns also save innocent lives!
I feel this one incident is blown out of proportion. Thousands of people are killed everyday with the use of modern day weapons. Again guns do not trigger automatically, a thumb is the main culprit.
Once again I say guns do not kill people.
Sriram: This isnt blown out of proportion...this is the 3rd or the 4th incident.. one in UT-Austin, TX, Columbine and now in Vtech. note that all three are in schools and killer were students..if there was gun cotnrol students wuldnt have access to these guns to pull the trigger even if they wanted to..
how many students do u know back home that has a gun? how many ppl are shot dead by a student in the schools?
Pistu:
More students die of lightning strikes than shooting. More mass murders in the US have happened by means of stabbing with knife. Your facts are not correct that more deaths have happened by shooting.
Driver: thought will let u know 70% are killed by guns and only 20% by knife.. I dont think u can walk into a campus and kill 32 ppl with a knife..
Hi Pistu
I happened to come to your blog and surprised to see this post of yours?!!
In driver's blog you claimed that it is EASY IN US TO ENFORCE LAW!!!!
Aren't you proving that you are contraditing yourselves?
Even though you claim to be happy about the way India is, you seem to be MORE EAGER to change USA!??
Why cannot you accept USA for what it is? You wanted Indians to accept India for what it is!!
I dont really see how someone can even compare between people getting shot to keeping the cities clean. Possessing a gun isnt against the law , it is a law in US and they did enforce it.
Pistu:
Your own words in this blog:
If the only rule that u need to follow to buy a gun is to be 18yrs old and not be convicted of any felony to own a gun, these kind of events are bound to happen. Hopefully atleast now US wakes up and provide some strong gun control laws.

....it is a law in US and they did enforce it.
Your reply from Driver's blog:
u gotta realise US is atleast three or four times bigger, richer than India and probably three or four times lower in population, so it is easy to meet the demand in US, keep the cities clean, enforce law.. but u cant do or expect the same in our country.
If you want to compare gun shooting vs. keeping the streets clean and see it at its face value, I can't help it!!!!!!
DO YOU KNOW: In India to throw garbage or to piss in public (why so much, you cannot even smoke in pubic places) is ILLEGAL!!!!
Finally if they have ENFORCED the law then why did 32 people die????!!!!
And are you an AMERICAN CITIZEN?!! Why are you worried about what law America writes or does not write??? Why cannot you accpt America for what it is and not try to change it?
Again US did enforce the law but 32 ppl died coz the the law wasnt stringent enuf. I am asking the law to change so the guns couldnt be accessed as easily as it is being done now. Not only in America but if the gun shooting happened in any other country I would have said something against it.
